About the job

About the Role At Cenosco, we build Asset Integrity Management Software trusted by global leaders in Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Energy and beyond. We are building a new data platform from the ground up, and we need a Senior Data Engineer to shape it: the architecture, the tooling, and the single source of truth our products and teams will rely on. No tools are set in stone, so we expect you to propose what works best and back it with reasoning. What You'll Do Platform & Architecture • Design and build our data platform from scratch, from ingestion to modelling to consumption • Take part in architectural decisions and help choose the right technologies (Snowflake, Databricks, or something you propose) • Research, evaluate, and implement a single source of truth across our data landscape Data Integration • Connect and consolidate data from multiple IMS databases and other heterogeneous sources • Design and build reliable, scalable ELT/ETL pipelines • Develop data models that serve both product and analytical needs Collaboration • Work closely with Product, Engineering, Domain Expertise, and other departments to turn business needs into solid data solutions • Raise the quality bar through code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing • Help shape engineering practices and standards as the team grows What You'll Need • 8+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering • Professional experience in a SaaS or Data-as-a-Service environment • Solid SQL and Python • Hands-on experience designing and building ELT/ETL pipelines • Strong data modelling skills (dimensional and/or lakehouse) • Production experience with at least one modern cloud data platform (Snowflake or Databricks ideal; BigQuery or Synapse also welcome) • Experience integrating data from multiple heterogeneous sources • Experience owning or influencing architectural and tooling decisions, and the ability to explain the trade-offs • Comfortable building without an existing backlog, structure, or playbook • Fluent English and strong communication skills Bonus Points For • Experience with orchestration and transformation tools (Airflow, dbt, Dagster) • Infrastructure as code and CI/CD (Terraform, Git-based workflows) • Experience with data governance, data quality, or master data management • Experience with Azure (or another major cloud) Working Location • UK - Remote Why You'll Love Working with Us • Build a data platform from scratch, with real influence on direction and tooling • Work on software used in safety-critical industries - your work genuinely matters • Freedom to propose and pioneer rather than inherit someone else's decisions • Join a small, engaged team where your voice carries weight • Flexible working arrangements that fit both you and the role • Competitive compensation with meaningful additional perks and top-notch equipment • Real investment in your growth - continuous learning is part of how we work • Team activities chosen by the team, not the marketing department Find Jobs in United Kingdom on Arbeitnow
