Question 1

What do the sponsorship labels mean?

Accepted Answer

Every job shows exactly one: Licensed sponsor (the employer is on that country's official sponsor register, with the source and last-checked date), Sponsorship offered (the advert explicitly says so), No sponsorship (the advert explicitly rules it out) or Unconfirmed (none of the above). Official registers we use or plan to use include the UK Home Office register, US H-1B employer data, Canada's positive-LMIA lists, the Dutch IND recognised sponsors and Irish employment-permit lists. Where a country has no public list (for example Australia and Germany) we rely on the advert wording only. A licence never guarantees that a particular job will sponsor.

Question 2

UK: What does the "Verified" badge mean?

Accepted Answer

The employer's name has been matched against the Home Office's live Register of Licensed Sponsors — the official list of companies currently licensed to sponsor Skilled Worker (and related) visas. A licence means the employer is allowed to sponsor visas — it doesn't guarantee that a particular job will. Only adverts that explicitly say so are shown as offering sponsorship.

Question 3

UK: What does "UK salary checked" mean?

Accepted Answer

The role's advertised salary has been checked against current Skilled Worker visa thresholds using its occupation (SOC) code, but we haven't yet matched the specific employer against the Home Office sponsor register. It says nothing about whether the employer will sponsor you.

Question 4

UK: If a job isn't verified, does that mean the employer can't sponsor?

Accepted Answer

No. The most common reason for a failed match is a name mismatch: job boards list trading names like "Acme Health" while the register holds "ACME HEALTHCARE GROUP LIMITED". We normalise both sides before comparing — stripping Ltd, Limited, LLP, Group and punctuation — but some names still won't line up. Treat an unmatched employer as "not confirmed" rather than "not licensed", and check the register yourself before writing the role off.

Question 5

UK: How is the salary threshold calculated?

Accepted Answer

We match each job to a UK SOC 2020 occupation code where possible, then compare its annualised salary against the current gov.uk "going rate" for that occupation (or the reduced Immigration Salary List rate, or the general Skilled Worker floor, whichever applies). The requirement is always the higher of the general floor and the going rate. You can adjust your assumed weekly hours and new-entrant status in Visa Settings, since both affect the calculation.

Question 6

Where do your threshold figures come from, and how current are they?

Accepted Answer

The general Skilled Worker floor (£41,700) and the Immigration Salary List floor (£33,400) come from the rules in force for certificates of sponsorship assigned on or after 22 July 2025. Occupation going rates come from the gov.uk going rates table, and each job's breakdown links to that source with the date the rate took effect. German EU Blue Card thresholds (€50,700 general, €45,934.20 reduced) are the figures effective 1 January 2026. Rules change — the badge is a snapshot, not a guarantee.

Question 7

UK: What is the "new entrant" setting in Visa Settings?

Accepted Answer

New entrant status is a lower salary requirement for people early in their career — broadly, applicants under 26, those switching from a Student or Graduate visa, and those working towards professional registration or a recognised qualification. It's a property of you, not of any job, which is why we never store it against a listing. Switch it on and every salary check recalculates with the 30% going-rate discount applied.

Question 8

UK: Why does an NHS job show as "Below Salary Threshold"?

Accepted Answer

Our calculator applies the standard Skilled Worker floors. It doesn't model the Health and Care Worker visa's much lower floor (usually at least £25,000) or NHS Agenda for Change national pay scales, which are assessed differently. So a perfectly sponsorable Band 5 nursing post can display as below threshold here. On healthcare roles, read that badge as "doesn't clear the standard Skilled Worker floor" rather than "can't be sponsored".

Question 9

Which countries do you cover?

Accepted Answer

We're building for Western markets: the UK, US, Canada, Australia, Ireland, Germany and the Netherlands first, then more of Europe and New Zealand. Today you can browse jobs in the UK, US, Canada, Australia, Germany and the Netherlands; other countries are being added. Where a country publishes salary rules for sponsored work we check them against that country's rules — German roles use EU Blue Card thresholds, UK roles use Skilled Worker ones.

Question 10

Why don't German jobs have a "Verified" sponsor badge?

Accepted Answer

Because Germany has no equivalent system. There's no employer sponsor licence and no public register to check — EU Blue Card eligibility rests on your qualification, the job offer and the salary. So for German listings we show the salary-threshold check and only mark sponsorship as offered when the advert itself says so — otherwise it shows as unconfirmed, rather than claiming a register match that doesn't exist.

Question 11

How do you decide a German job is a shortage occupation?

Accepted Answer

We infer it from the job title using a conservative keyword match across IT, engineering and healthcare terms in both English and German. If a title doesn't match, we fall back to the higher general Blue Card threshold rather than guessing in your favour — so we under-report shortage roles rather than over-report them. Always check the official shortage list before relying on the lower figure.

Question 12

Is this immigration advice?

Accepted Answer

No. Everything on this site is general information and an estimate to help you prioritise your search. We don't assess individual cases, and nothing here is tailored to your circumstances. Sponsor licences can be revoked and salary rules can change at any time — always confirm sponsorship and eligibility directly with the employer, and speak to a qualified immigration adviser before making decisions about your visa.

Question 13

Do you sell sponsorship or visa services?

Accepted Answer

Never, and neither should anyone else. We don't sell sponsorship, certificates of sponsorship, "job guarantees" or visa applications. If any employer or agent asks you to pay for a Certificate of Sponsorship or for the employer's sponsor licence costs, treat it as a serious warning sign — sponsors cannot lawfully pass those costs on to you.

Question 14

How do job alerts work?

Accepted Answer

Turn alerts on from the Alerts page and we'll email you a digest of newly posted roles that match your saved search since your last update, with the sponsorship evidence already shown for each one. You can turn them off again at any time from the same page, or from the link at the bottom of any alert email.

Question 15

How often are jobs updated?

Accepted Answer

We pull live listings from the Adzuna jobs API, from the official NHS Jobs feed for UK healthcare roles, and from German sources for Blue Card roles — and refresh regularly, so you're not applying to roles that have already been filled or removed.

Question 16

Is it free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The job feed, filters, sponsorship evidence, explained matches, email alerts and the application tracker are free for everyone. Free includes up to 10 saved jobs, plus 1 CV analysis and 1 tailored application a month. Plus gives unlimited saved jobs and 30 CV analyses and 30 tailored applications a month. Human CV review will be a separate paid add-on. See our Pricing page for current details.

Question 17

Can employers post jobs here?

Accepted Answer

Yes. See the Post a Job page for what a listing includes and what it costs. Employer listings are held to the same checks as imported ones — a paid listing doesn't buy a Verified badge.

Question 18

What happens when I mark a job as "applied" or save it?

Accepted Answer

Applied and saved jobs are tied to your account so you can find them again later from your dashboard, under Saved Jobs and Applied Jobs. This data is only visible to you.

Question 19

What information do you collect about me?

Accepted Answer

See our Privacy page for a plain-English breakdown of what we store and why.
